Fair Verona

We visited Verona yesterday, fabled home of Romeo & Juliet. Shakespeare was said to have based the two families in the story on two rival families in Verona.

We are staying in a nice B&B with a shower, towels and our own room. LUXURY!!!

I should also add that it is a lot of fun trying to speak Italian :) We spent 30 minutes in the post office yesterday sending a parcel home and buying stamps! We have been very lucky so far, we always start by asking if they speak English (in Italian) to which the reply "a little" and then go on to speak perfect English!

Verona is very pretty:

We visited Juliets house and wrote love messages on the wall along with thousands of others which have appeared there over the years

We visited the Roman amphitheatre which is the 3rd largest in Italy and holds 20,000 people:

We also found a cute little cafe and enjoyed the yummiest hot chocolate.

We are off to Florence this morning for 2 nights.
